1. A comprehensive approach to learning
This international program has been specifically designed for those who are interested in a career in physical therapy in the USA. The program includes extra courses in biomedicine and the humanities, which are taught in English and which are required for students to prepare for the National Physical Therapy Examination, and a CEU UCH-specific Master Program in Reasoning and Clinical Practice for Physiotherapy.
2. Back in the USA
We can offer you a unique program in Spain which is recognized as equivalent by the FCCPT (Foreign Credentialing Commission on Physical Therapy) and which provides you with excellent preparation for the USA's National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE): this is one of the few ways you can gain the qualifications you need to practice in the USA without studying at a US university.
3. Focused on practical training
The University has more than 10,135 practical training agreements with institutions in Spain and across the world so that you can undertake up to 1200 hours of clinical practical training. You can undertake this training in Spain, another European country or even in the USA.
4. Sports Physiotherapy: the perfect specialization
Those who are from the USA possess an advantage with regard to being able to practice there, due to the nature of the requirements. However, even if you are not from the USA, you can also undertake this international program if you also enroll on our Master's Degree in Sports Physiotherapy: it's the only way you'll be able to take the NPTE if you are not from the USA.

CEU Merit Program GrantsWelcome to the grant program for Spanish students – with no small print! The. CEU Merit Program offers more than 90 grants per year, providing a reduction in annual student fees of between 75% to 100%. This is the only grant program for which you will know whether or not you will receive it before you enrol – so, if your application for a grant is not successful, you will still have time to apply to a different university if you wish. As we said, no small print.

How our Dual Degrees work
Two degrees at your own pace and as flexible as you needWhen you graduate, you will have two official university degrees, not a single joint degree. That is why the dual degrees at CEU are designed to meet your needs, with customized study paths to suit the pace you need to study at and to take into account any international study visits. We will take care of everything with regard to the credit recognition system – let us worry about it. 
Dual degree and double the pay-off, but not double the priceStudy for a dual degree will give you two degree qualifications, but you will not have to pay the full annual fees for both programs. As a rough guide, if one degree costs you 100 euros, the dual degree will cost you 130. Just ask us for more details. 
No switching campus and no complex bureaucracyYou will study for the dual degree in the same building, so you will not have to commute between lectures. There will be a single case manager for your study path, and so there is no complex bureaucratic system to navigate. You will get a dual degree, but without the usual administrative complications. |
First year Anatomy, assessment and first treatment techniques
The human body at the heart of everything. In the first year, you will learn about human anatomy and how it functions from a theoretical point of view, but also through certain practical activities. Over the year, you will learn about the physical (Physiology, Biology and Biochemistry) and psychological side of the patient, and you will begin to consider how to examine, assess and treat your patients.
The international part of the program starts this year with Chemistry and Human Histology, which you will study in English.
Second and third year General and specific techniques and clinical specialties.
During the second and third year, you will begin to flesh out your professional profile as a physical therapist, by studying pathologies, developing your clinical reasoning and applying what you've learnt at our advanced clinical simulation facilities. The practical side of the program will enable you to master general treatment techniques and to explore a range of clinical areas, including pediatrics, geriatrics, sports neurology and cardio-respiratory physical therapy.
The international component of the program continues during these two years with four courses: Pharmacology, Speech and Oral Communication, Genetics and Philosophy.
Fourth yearFewer theoretical classes, much more practical training.
By this stage, you've learnt so much and it's time to work with real patients. The fourth year is all about practical training and placements. You'll undertake up to six different placements for the six main specialties of the profession: traumatology/orthopedics, hospital-based physical therapy, pediatrics, geriatrics, neurology and cardio-respiratory therapy. You'll undergo more than 1200 hours of practical training in one of the most intensively practical programs in Europe.
The international component of the program continues this year with the Ethics and Composition of Research Writing courses taught in English and you can choose whether to undertake the final placement in the USA.
Fifth year A master program to take you to the USA*
You're already qualified to practice as a physical therapist in Europe, but your focus is on the USA: in this final year, you will complete the international component with the Master Program in Reasoning and Clinical Practice for Physiotherapy, which is taught in English. This year will enable you to comply with the legal requirements to be able to work as a physical therapist in the US and you can also prepare for the final hurdle in the shape of the NPTE. Passing this exam will open the door to your new career in the States.
Important: If you are not a US citizen, you will also need to undertake the Master's Degree in Sports Physiotherapy, which is taught entirely in Spanish. You can combine this Master's Degree with the fifth year of the this program, or enroll on it after you graduate.
