The CEU Cardenal Herrera University is firmly committed to excellence in research, with the aim being for this to be of benefit to the common good, to undertake science which is of benefit to society and its progress, and to address social needs. Our mission is to create new knowledge and put it at the service of the people around us.

To do this we fund research via our own resources both generated by the University itself and from the Fundación Universitaria San Pablo CEU, which supports four universities in Spain. These sources of internal funding include training grants for predoctoral research staff; mobility grants; support for Recognized Research Groups; grants for lecturers who are not part of research groups; and support for pre-competitive and unique research projects, and for educational research.

The Office of the Vice-Rector for Research supports academic staff in their research via its Research Committee and its Ethics Committees, as well as through its five Administrative Units for Research, Knowledge Transfer, and Dissemination, which provide the necessary structure to generate excellent and high-impact science, with repercussions for both people and society.
